Review V One Multimedia's Snazio* Pocket PVR
No bigger than a typical USB thumb drive, the Snazio* Pocket PVR can easily turn your notebook or desktop PC into a video capturing solution center that allows you to not just watch TV in real-time but capture, edit, schedule recordings and reproduce it as an extradinary video-edited clip in VCD, SVCD or DVD recording. The best part is that it uses a USB 2.0 interface (480Mbps).
You can record your videos on popular formats like AVI, DivX, XviD and WMV (on Snazzi* TV) or convert AVI to MPEG (TV Plus software) and if you have a burner, output your resulting clip or video to CD or DVD.
With its built-in mini TV tuner and a nifty infrared-based remote control, you can set different channels and surf different TV channels using the remote. Interestingly, the remote also lets you take still shots, record whatever's showing on-screen, time-shift (based on the buffer you set) or change the video source (TV, CATV,S-Video or AV).
Priced at S$199, the Pocket PVR is useful anytime, anywhere. In fact, it should just stay hooked to the side of your notebook at all times.
